Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced and passionate Full Time Sous Chef to join the PLG team at The Cove Hotel in Patterson Lakes. Youll oversee daily operations manage kitchen staff and ensure consistent food quality. If youre ready to step into a leadership role this is a great opportunity for you!

The Cove Hotel is a premier dining and entertainment venue offering one of the most spectacular water views right on the marina in Patterson bistro offers contemporary casual dining in a relaxed setting; catering to both the traditional indoor style seating by the fireplace and an enclosed deck area capturing the view of the marina.

What will my duties include
  • Support the Head Chef in managing and training a diverse kitchen team.
  • Implement and manage Food Safety Plans.
  • Prepare and cook menu as per cooking guidelines and set standards.
  • Work in conjunction with the Head Chef to develop and implement menus.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Ensure all food safety procedures are being followed.
The role you are applying for may be quite fast-paced and require you to complete tasks including but not limited to lifting boxes kegs or stock standing for long periods of time and utilising stairs.
What we are looking for:
  • Hold a Certificate 3 or 4 in Commercial Cookery (or equivalent)
  • Food Handlers Certificate.
  • Experience working in a pub/bistro fast-paced environment.
  • Well-versed in all kitchen areas with hands-on experience.
  • Ability to follow and give directions when required.
  • Willingness to work various shifts including evenings weekends and holidays as needed.
  • Full working rights in Australia.
