Are you an audit professional looking for new challenge and want to have influence by improving risk management in the public sector Please consider joining us as we currently have an exciting opportunity with our Audit area in the Corporate Accountability and Planning (CAP) Branch within the Corporate Finance and Accountability Division.
Operating as a member of the Ministrys audit team the Audit Supervisor will possess the skills necessary to conduct independent assessments on the Ministrys risk management governance financial operational and internal control processes to determine if they are operating effectively. To be effective the Audit Supervisor must bring developed knowledge and experience to lead the planning and conducting of audit projects in accordance with professional auditing standards.
The main responsibilities of the position are:
Leading risk analysis and audit planning for the development of an annual and multi-year audit plan through the identification of priorities based on risk to the Ministry.
Acting as primary project lead on audit projects including project management planning scheduling field operations audit conduct documentation quality review and reporting.
Acting as a primary communication liaison with client management and staff including conducting audit entrance and exit meetings.
Ensuring audit engagements are conducted effectively efficiently and in a timely manner.
Acting as Ministry subject matter expert on audit risk assessment/ management and internal controls.
To be successful in this role you will possess:
Demonstrated experience leading all facets of audit projects
Proven experience leading and mentoring audit personnel
Experience in risk analysis and development of yearly and multi-year audit plans
Knowledge of internal audit and accounting standards principles and best practices; plus knowledge in several of the following area: internal control practices risk analysis organizational theory management concepts finance economics and information technology
Experience working with government or enterprise financial and management information systems
Communication (verbal & written) relationship development creative problem solving and analytical skills
Excellent professional judgement and integrity
