DescriptionThis position will coordinate conduct and document clinical research related activities as well as assist with participant recruitment activities. The primary purpose of this position is to coordinate study visits ensure quality assurance of data collected throughout the research study collect and prepare laboratory specimens prepare submission of research protocols for IRB approval and review and implement procedures and activities of the research studies conducted in the Diabetes Center according to all applicable regulations under the direction of the Principal Investigators. The Research Support Specialist will utilize education and expertise to oversee patient- related activities of the studies.
Responsibilities- Assist with the coordination and implementation of multiple studies being conducted in the USF Diabetes and Endocrinology Center. This includes but is not limited to data entry lab coordination recruitment consent enrollment and follow-up of clinical research subjects specimen collection (adult and pediatric phlebotomy) and preparation and shipping of laboratory specimens as needed.
- Assist with patient recruitment and outreach activities to help meet recruitment goals of each active protocol. Develop and adhere to protocol procedures Standard Operating Procedures and Good Clinical Practices.
- Assist with Institutional Review Board submissions.
- Special projects as needed.
QualificationsMinimum Qualifications:
This position requires a high school diploma or equivalent and four years of experience in office or administrative support or in research support. College education may be substituted for the required experience on a year for year basis.
Preferred Qualifications:
Pediatric Phlebotomy/IV insertion experience preferred bilingual (English/Spanish) Proficient computer skills including database management and familiarity with Microsoft Office programs. An understanding of standard clinical procedures laws and regulations.
