Role summary for the Year 2 Teacher
The Year 2 Teacher will lead systematic phonics guided reading and structured writing sequences as the Year 2 Teacher. The Year 2 Teacher will design carefully scaffolded maths lessons and craft memorable foundation topics that build knowledge. As the Year 2 Teacher you will be expected to plan before January 2026 to attend induction in January 2026 and to start teaching from January 2026.
Year 2 Teacher responsibilities & impact
Deliver phonics early reading and daily writing sessions as the Year 2 Teacher.
Use observation and assessment to personalise learning as the Year 2 Teacher.
Lead parental engagement events and support transition into Key Stage 2 as the Year 2 Teacher.
The Year 2 Teacher will be supported by experienced phase leaders and will access tailored CPD after January 2026.
Candidate essentials Year 2 Teacher
We are seeking a Year 2 Teacher with QTS/equivalent strong KS1 evidence and excellent communication with families. The Year 2 Teacher should be available for pre-term planning ahead of January 2026 induction in January 2026 and to teach from January 2026 as the Full-Time Year 2 Teacher in this Independent School.
