GSR Group proudly owns and operates Wingstop franchise locations providing outstanding food and exceptional service to our guests. Were expanding our support team to include a Bookkeeper. This role is essential in ensuring a seamless and positive experience for every guest whether theyre asking about menu items orders or employment opportunities.
Job OverviewWe are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Bookkeeper to manage our financial records and ensure the accuracy of our accounting operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of accounting principles excellent organizational skills and proficiency with bookkeeping software. This role requires someone who can handle multiple tasks maintain accuracy under pressure and provide timely financial reports to support decision-making within the organization.
Key Responsibilities1. General Ledger Management
Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records including ledgers and journals.
Reconcile bank accounts and credit card statements on a monthly basis.
Post journal entries ensuring they are in compliance with company policies and generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
Prepare and maintain accurate financial records and filing systems for audits.
2. Accounts Payable & Receivable
Process accounts payable and receivable transactions ensuring timely and accurate payments and receipts.
Monitor overdue accounts and send payment reminders to clients or vendors.
Prepare and maintain aging reports for both accounts payable and accounts receivable.
Handle vendor invoicing and resolve discrepancies or disputes with suppliers.
3. Payroll Processing
Process payroll on a scheduled basis ensuring all employees are paid correctly and on time.
Track vacation sick and personal leave balances.
Ensure compliance with tax laws and manage deductions benefits and overtime calculations.
Prepare and submit payroll tax filings including federal state and local taxes.
4. Financial Reporting
Prepare monthly quarterly and annual financial statements including balance sheets profit and loss statements and cash flow statements.
Assist with budget preparation and variance analysis.
Provide regular updates and financial summaries to senior management.
Support audits by preparing necessary documentation and responding to auditor queries.
5. Tax Compliance
Assist with the preparation and filing of local state and federal tax returns including sales tax income tax and payroll taxes.
Stay up-to-date on changes in tax laws to ensure full compliance with all tax obligations.
Prepare supporting documentation for tax audits if required.
6. Reconciliation & Reporting
Reconcile and balance financial accounts and general ledgers regularly.
Ensure accuracy in all financial transactions including data entry and reconciliation.
Prepare financial reports for management highlighting trends and areas for improvement.
7. Miscellaneous Accounting Duties
Monitor cash flow and manage the companys financial position.
Assist with other accounting tasks and projects as needed by the finance team.
Provide support in maintaining and improving financial systems and processes.
Required Skills and QualificationsEducation: High school diploma required; Associates or Bachelors degree in Accounting Finance or related field preferred.
Experience: Minimum of 1-2years of bookkeeping or accounting experience.
Technical Skills: Proficient in bookkeeping software (e.g. QuickBooks Xero FreshBooks) and Microsoft Excel.
Attention to Detail: Strong ability to maintain accuracy and precision in financial data.
Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze and interpret financial information and identify discrepancies.
Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills for interacting with vendors clients and internal stakeholders.
Organization: Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
Confidentiality: Ability to handle sensitive financial information with integrity and discretion.
Preferred SkillsExperience with payroll systems and software.
Familiarity with accounting principles such as GAAP.
Knowledge of tax laws and filing procedures.
Experience in working within a specific industry (e.g. retail construction nonprofit etc.).
