Job Summary

Job Summary:

The Registered Nurse (RN) in the Ortho unit is responsible for providing nursing care to patients on a 38-bed unit. This position involves working weekend shifts and may require floating to other Med Surg departments as needed. The RN will perform duties within their scope of practice contributing to patient care in an acute care Level I trauma center environment.
Location:Springfield Illinois United States
Responsibilities:

- Provide skilled nursing care to patients in the Ortho unit.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
- Monitor and assess patient conditions reporting changes to the healthcare team.
- Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement patient care plans.
- Perform PICC line management and start IVs.
- Document patient care accurately and timely in Cerner.
- Float to other Med Surg departments as needed.
Required Skills & Certifications:

- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of working.
- BLS certification.
- Minimum 1 year of experience as an RN.
- IV therapy and phlebotomy skills including PICC line management and starting IVs.
Preferred Skills & Certifications:

- ACLS certification.
- Telemetry experience.
- Cerner experience.
- Previous travel experience.
Special Considerations:

- Weekend shifts only (Friday-Sunday OR Saturday-Monday).
- May float to other Med Surg departments as needed.
- No on-call requirements.
- Acute Care Hospital - Level I trauma center.
- Magnet hospital/facility.
Scheduling:
- 3x12 hour weekend day shifts.
- Shifts are determined and assigned by the facility.
