Job Summary:
The Respiratory Neuro Diagnostics Specialist will be responsible for providing respiratory care and diagnostic services in both acute and long-term care settings. This role involves managing patients with conditions such as CHF COPD pneumonia and respiratory failure utilizing specialized equipment and performing procedures like ABG sampling and ventilator management. The specialist will work within adult critical care and emergency department environments ensuring optimal respiratory support and patient care.

Responsibilities:
- Perform ABG sampling and analysis.
- Manage patients on ventilators including troubleshooting and weaning.
- Conduct thorough patient assessments related to respiratory status.
- Implement pulmonary hygiene techniques.
- Operate and maintain specialized respiratory equipment such as Hamilton Vent Servo-U Vent NKV330 (NIV device) Airvo2 Dream Machines and V30s.
- Manage airway including endotracheal tube/suctioning extubation intubation assist and placement/suctioning of nasal and oral airways.
- Collect sputum specimens.
- Perform tracheostomy care and suctioning.
- Administer nebulizer treatments via hand-held T-piece and trach collar methods.
- Deliver oxygen therapy using bag and mask ET tube high flow nasal cannula (HFNC) T-piece and trach collar.
- Manage BiPAP and CPAP therapies.
- Troubleshoot high-pressure ventilator alarms.
- Assist with weaning patients from mechanical ventilation.
- Monitor and document patient data in electronic medical records.
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to provide comprehensive patient care.
Required Skills & Certifications:
- BLS certification
- RRT (Registered Respiratory Therapist) certification
- Experience in Adult Critical Care
- Experience in Emergency Department settings
- Proficiency in airway management devices/suctioning
- Experience with nebulizer therapies
- Expertise in oxygen therapy administration
- Ventilator management skills
- Experience with patient ratios of 1:20
Preferred Skills & Certifications:
- Nights availability
Special Considerations:
- Willingness to rotate between acute and long-term care.
- Possible night shifts with call required approximately every other week.
Scheduling:
- Three 12-hour shifts per week.
- Every other weekend required.
