Draughtsman Manufacturing

Job Purpose:

The Draftsman plays a pivotal role in translating engineering and architectural concepts into precise technical designs that drive manufacturing efficiency facility development and equipment optimization. This position supports strategic projects that enhance production capacity safety standards and cost-effectiveness across operations. By ensuring technical accuracy and alignment with engineering best practices the Draftsman contributes directly to the companys goal of achieving sustainable growth through innovation operational reliability and design excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

• Create detailed technical drawings manufacturing schematics and architectural layouts based on provided specifications and calculations.
  

• Prepare and present comprehensive design plans for mechanical and structural works to support facility and equipment installations.
  

• Review and validate engineering drawings to ensure compliance with technical standards safety codes and project specifications.
  

• Utilize CAD software such as AutoCAD Revit or SolidWorks to produce accurate high-quality design outputs.
  

• Supervise contractor and vendor work to minimize project delays and ensure adherence to quality and safety standards.
  

• Implement continuous improvement initiatives by identifying opportunities for design optimization and cost efficiency.
  

• Ensure all designs conform to company standards customer requirements and relevant regulatory frameworks.
  

• Conduct safety inspections and enforce compliance with PPE and hazard prevention measures.
  

• Support project budgeting cost estimation and material control to ensure financial efficiency.
  

• Monitor inventory levels of construction and project materials and support procurement planning.
  

• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to team members to strengthen skill development and succession readiness.
  

• Maintain organized records documentation and reports for all ongoing and completed projects.
  

• Coordinate effectively with engineering maintenance and production teams as well as external stakeholders to ensure smooth project execution.
  

• Track and proactively address project risks bottlenecks and compliance gaps
  

Requirements

Qualifications and Requirements:

• Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Technical Drawing from a recognized institution.
  

• 810 years of proven experience as a Draftsman in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
  

• Proficiency in CAD software such as AutoCAD Revit or SolidWorks.
  

• Solid understanding of engineering and architectural principles.
  

• Strong ability to visualize and translate concepts into detailed 2D and 3D designs.
  

• Demonstrated precision accuracy and manual dexterity in design work.
  

• Excellent mathematical analytical and cost management skills.
  

• Experience with Building Information Modelling (BIM) software.
  

• Knowledge of relevant building codes industry standards and engineering best practices.
  

• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within multidisciplinary teams.
  

• Strong communication organizational and problem-solving abilities.
