Job Summary
The job of Cafe Cook is done for the purpose/s ofcooking baking and preparing food items that meet mandated nutritional requirements and/or requests of students/staff; verifying quantities and specifications of orders; and maintaining facilities in a safe and sanitary condition.
This job reports to the Cafe Site Manager.
Essential Functions:
- Cleans utensils equipment as well as storage food preparation and serving areas
- Estimates food preparation amounts
- Evaluates prepared food for flavor appearance and temperature
- Inspects and inventories food items and/or supplies
- Overseesand participates in the preparation cooking and serving of food and beverage items
- Prepares documentation (e.g. production sheets daily reports inventory logs equipment order forms etc.)
- Procures food items equipment and supplies from warehouse and/or outside vendors
- Serves one or more items of food (selected locations only)
- Stocks food condiments and supplies
- Assists other personnel as may be required
- Maintains confidentiality of student school lunch eligibility and participates in various activities (e.g. estimate/requisition food quantities marketing activities barbeques picnics etc.).
Qualifications:
- Criminal justice/fingerprint clearance
- Experience desired
- Ability to read write and communicate clearly in English
5.5 or 8hours is a 10 month School Year position only.
