Overview
Morgan Stanleys Quantitative Research team is responsible for driving the performance of the firms agency execution platforms. A critical component of this effort is partnering with electronic trading clients to understand their unique needs and deliver tailored solutions that enhance execution quality and competitiveness.

The Client Analytics group within Quantitative Research acts as execution consultants designing and implementing customized strategies and products for listed instruments across multiple asset classes and regions. Working closely with MSET Sales the team develops and configures trading tools that extend the firms electronic trading suite while continuously monitoring and analyzing their performance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Client Engagement & Product Design:
    Understand client investment decisions and workflows to design execution products that align with objectives including recommending optimal execution mechanisms.
  • Client Flow Analysis & Strategy Optimization:
    Perform detailed analysis of client trading flow and develop actionable recommendations to optimize execution performance.
  • Analytical Toolkit Development:
    Build and enhance analytical toolkits to deepen insights into client flow and support strategy optimization processes.
  • Performance Analysis & Transparency:
    Track analyze and report on algorithm performance; provide real-time insights to clients and coverage teams.
  • Market Structure Adaptation:
    Monitor changes in market structure and special events; adjust trading strategies accordingly.
  • Revenue Optimization:
    Prioritize tasks effectively to maximize MSET revenue opportunities
  • Collaboration:
    Partner with internal stakeholders (Sales Coverage Technology) to deliver integrated solutions and maintain competitive execution platforms.

Required Skills

  • Strong understanding of equity markets and market structure.
  • Expertise in transaction cost analysis.
  • Familiarity with electronic trading platforms.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Advanced analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Expected base pay rates for the role will be between $150000 and $250000 per year at the commencement of employment. However base pay if hired will be determined on an individualized basis and is only part of the total compensation package which depending on the position may also include commission earnings incentive compensation discretionary bonuses other short and long-term incentive packages and other Morgan Stanley sponsored benefit programs.
