The Opportunity
Were looking for a Project Supervisor to oversee and deliver a series of structural mechanical and civil construction projects across both surface and underground mining environments.
This is a hands-on leadership role ideal for someone who understands the day-to-day realities of site work and can take responsibility for safe on-time and on-budget project delivery.
Based locally in Mt Isa is preferred but FIFO will be considered for the right candidate.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage projects from planning through to completion
- Maintain project reporting including progress updates cost tracking and risk identification
- Schedule work activities and manage daily operations on site
- Supervise and coordinate teams of tradespeople and subcontractors
- Build and maintain strong client relationships acting as a key point of contact throughout the project lifecycle.
- Liaise with clients suppliers and internal teams to meet project deliverables
- Drive a culture of safety ensuring all team members adhere to safety protocols and maintain a safe working environment.
- Provide regular reports on project progress risks and opportunities to the Branch Manager and other key stakeholders.
- Contribute to the growth and strategic direction of MCA Engineering through effective project leadership.
About You:
- Ability to understand and appreciate both the technical implications of a project as well as managing contractual requirements effectively.
- You will have a trade or engineering qualification supported by management or leadership background with a minimum of 2 years experience in a Project Supervisor role.
- Proven ability to run construction or maintenance projects
- Strong planning and scheduling skills
- Confident with report writing and documentation
- Excellent communication and leadership skills
- Commitment to safety and fostering a positive team culture
- Ability to work independently and solve problems on the ground
- Experience in underground mining or heavy industry preferred
- Current drivers licence and construction white card
- Mt Isa locals highly encouraged to apply FIFO is also considered
- Ability to travel as needed with flexibility to work across Australia.
