The Opportunity

Were looking for a Project Supervisor to oversee and deliver a series of structural mechanical and civil construction projects across both surface and underground mining environments.

This is a hands-on leadership role ideal for someone who understands the day-to-day realities of site work and can take responsibility for safe on-time and on-budget project delivery.

Based locally in Mt Isa is preferred but FIFO will be considered for the right candidate.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage projects from planning through to completion
  • Maintain project reporting including progress updates cost tracking and risk identification
  • Schedule work activities and manage daily operations on site
  • Supervise and coordinate teams of tradespeople and subcontractors
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships acting as a key point of contact throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Liaise with clients suppliers and internal teams to meet project deliverables
  • Drive a culture of safety ensuring all team members adhere to safety protocols and maintain a safe working environment.
  • Provide regular reports on project progress risks and opportunities to the Branch Manager and other key stakeholders.
  • Contribute to the growth and strategic direction of MCA Engineering through effective project leadership.

About You:

  • Ability to understand and appreciate both the technical implications of a project as well as managing contractual requirements effectively.
  • You will have a trade or engineering qualification supported by management or leadership background with a minimum of 2 years experience in a Project Supervisor role.
  • Proven ability to run construction or maintenance projects
  • Strong planning and scheduling skills
  • Confident with report writing and documentation
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills
  • Commitment to safety and fostering a positive team culture
  • Ability to work independently and solve problems on the ground
  • Experience in underground mining or heavy industry preferred
  • Current drivers licence and construction white card
  • Mt Isa locals highly encouraged to apply FIFO is also considered
  • Ability to travel as needed with flexibility to work across Australia.
