A Brief Overview
The Business Intelligence Analyst transforms data into insights using modern analytics tools. Duties include assessing business and technical requirements to deliver content that enhances clinical and business decision-making performing data analysis on various large and complex data models and datasets developing interactive dashboards for self-service or producing detailed analysis in Microsoft Excel maintaining existing business intelligence dashboards and assisting data consumers with training or further analysis as needed.
What you will do
- Assesses data analytics and data modeling requests to determine business and technical requirements
- Performs intermediate data analysis techniques and presents findings
- Identifies existing solutions or designs new solutions to satisfy analytics requests
- Creates and maintains documentation that includes the business need key assumptions technical information external references user manuals/tutorials and other relevant information
- Performs data gap analysis based on enterprise data availability and business requirements
- Communicates data gap analysis and data integrity issues as well as recommendations to requestors and data stewards
- Contributes ideas and seeks ways to improve assigned processes and workflows
- Provides training and shares insights with customers on data analytics content and reporting
- Develops and maintains a general understanding of statistics and data analytics
- Keeps current on industry knowledge skills and certifications to serve as a resource to employees and to conduct job duties
Qualifications
- Bachelors Degree in Arts/Sciences (BA/BS) Bachelors degree or equivalent experience in Business Finance Healthcare Information Systems Statistics or related field Preferred
- 1-3 years Experience working with data report writing tools dashboards/data visualization and/or analytics software applications (i.e. Business Objects SQL Microsoft BI Excel Tableau or other relevant applications.) Preferred
- 1-3 years experience working with or knowledge of healthcare related data such as claims financials EHR/Clinical or quality reporting Preferred
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
