What are we looking for

ORDE is embarking on our digital journey to transform how we originate mortgages using technology.

We are seeking an experienced delivery-focused Product Owner to lead technology change in our origination business with a particular focus on the Australian mortgage market. You will drive the adoption and enhancement of our Salesforce & AWS digital platform and AI capabilities working closely with cross-functional teams to deliver innovative solutions that improve broker and borrower experiences.

You will work closely with the Head of Product Technology leads Credit digital innovation lead Change and Security leads and cross-functional teams to shape and deliver the origination roadmap. This is a unique opportunity to influence how data automation and AI is adopted across ORDE and to build the foundations for long-term capability.

  • Define and prioritise product backlogs aligned with business goals customer needs and regulatory requirements in mortgage origination.
  • Lead the functional and technical design of new initiatives including documentation process flows epics and user stories.
  • Develop and maintain product roadmaps for origination technology including 12-month delivery plans and 3-year strategic visions working with digital leads of distribution credit and settlements.
  • Build commercial cases for investment assessing desirability feasibility and viability of new work.
  • Apply risk management frameworks to ensure solutions meet ORDEs standards and risk appetite.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for stakeholders including business leaders brokers customers and technology partners.
  • Collaborate with delivery squads developers and partners to ensure high-quality customer-centric solutions.
  • Facilitate Agile ceremonies (sprint planning demos stand-ups retrospectives) and drive continuous improvement.
  • Use primary & secondary research to understand the needs of users and develop prototypes to test hypothesis before commencing development on end solutions.
  • Champion the adoption of AI and automation in origination identifying and developing use cases that leverage Salesforce AWS data and AI technologies.
  • Measure and report on product success adoption and business value delivered.
  • Coach and mentor junior product owners and contribute to the growth of the product owner community at ORDE.

About You

  • 5 years experience in product ownership or related roles with a strong track record in technology delivery for the Australian mortgage market.
  • Extensive experience supporting technology change in mortgage origination ideally with non-bank or specialist lenders who use mortgage brokers.
  • Expertise with Salesforce (preferably certified) or AWS technologies and hands-on experience with AI/ML tools.
  • Strong understanding of Agile methodologies (Scrum Kanban) and human-centred design practices.
  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and deliver complex multi-stream programs.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement communication and collaboration skills.
  • Analytical and problem-solving mindset with a passion for innovation and experimentation.
  • Experience with project management tools (e.g. JIRA Confluence) and familiarity with data governance and digital enablement frameworks.
  • Passion for technology AI and transforming business processes through digital solutions.
