In this dynamic role youll play a key part in shaping the future of our Global Contract Manufacturing Platform. As a Manufacturing Engineer youll collaborate with internal teams global cross-functional partners and contract manufacturers to ensure seamless transfers and successful launches of new programs. Your expertise will help identify and mitigate risks drive consistency in pre-launch New Product Introduction (NPI) activities and ensure smooth production stabilization while leading optimization projects post-launch.

Based on the global support of our Contract Manufacturing partners this role can be located anywhere in the United States. Travel typically 35% to 55% but varies based on initiatives and incumbent location.

As a Principal Manufacturing Engineer - Global Contract Mfg you will;

  • Design manufacturing processes procedures and production layouts for assemblies equipment installation processingmachiningand material handling.

  • Design arrangement of machines within plant facilities to ensuremostefficient and productive layout.

  • Design sequence of operations and specifies procedures for the fabrication of tools and equipment and other functions that affect product performance.

  • Adaptmachine or equipment design to factory and production conditions.

  • Incorporate inspection and test requirements into the production plan.

  • Inspect performance of machinery equipment and tools to verify their efficiency and investigates andinitiatescorrective action of problems and deficiencies to ensure product quality.

  • Develop manufacturing processes thatare applicableto statistical processcontrol andmay develop those techniques.

  • Provide guidance to engineeringregardingdesign concepts and specification requirements to bestutilizeequipment and manufacturing techniques.

  • Ensureprocesses and proceduresare in compliance withregulations.

  • Identify designandprocess optimizationopportunities to improve safety quality and cost of the productand manufacturingline.

  • Drive team accountability for process improvement and implementation helping to communicate the importance of process development throughout the organization.

  • Proactivelyidentifyand call out risks and issues to relevant stakeholders; lead development and delivery of tactical and achievable mitigation and contingency planning.

Must Have:MinimumRequirements:

  • Bachelors degree

  • Minimum of 7 years of relevant medical device manufacturing engineering experience or related field or advanced degree with 5 years of relevant medical device manufacturing engineering experience or related field

  • Excellent oral written and presentation communication skills

  • Excellentproblemsolvingcapability

  • Demonstrated ability to work through influence negotiation and partnering

Nice to Have:

  • Experience working with or forlargecontractmanufacturingorganizations

  • Test and Tester development experience with hardware and software

  • Experience working on a range of scale and complexity of product from large capital equipment to small less complexconsumables

  • Experience working with finished goodssuppliers

  • Experience working on new product launches fromearly stagedesign evaluation to production start

  • Strong understanding of launch process requirements such PDP or equivalent

  • Stronglypreferred to have project planning skills to prioritize tasks andestablishframeworkand systems for managing areas of responsibility

  • Ability to travel 35% - 55%

Salary ranges for U.S (excl. PR) locations (USD):$120800.00 - $181200.00

This position is eligible for a short-term incentive called the Medtronic Incentive Plan (MIP).

The base salary range is applicable across the United States excluding Puerto Rico and specific locations in California. The offered rate complies with federal and local regulations and may vary based on factors such as experience certification/education market conditions and location. Compensation and benefits information pertains solely to candidates hired within the United States (local market compensation and benefits will apply for others).
