Job Description:

The Marketing Communications Specialist II supports the marketing team in the coordination of marketing communication programs for a specific product or business line. At the direction of supervisors the Marketing Communications Specialist II coordinates the day to day activity in support of marketing communications programs and plans including creation of materials such as print ads brochures merchandising on-line materials statement inserts and general flyers. Working with internal departments and external vendors as needed the Marketing Communications Specialist II handles project details independently and assists others with more complex aspects of projects.

Depth & Scope:

  • Coordinates moderately complex marketing projects in support of Marketing Communications initiatives
  • Completes tasks/duties as assigned by the Marketing Communications Manager
  • May serve as Marketing Communications contact for various initiatives
  • Assists with client meetings including business line or other Company clients determining needs and requirements generating ideas and formulating project plans
  • May create project plans adding ideas from research and other department personnel
  • May evaluate effectiveness of projects after implementation; may compile and analyze feedback from various internal areas and outside vendors may develop recommendations as appropriate and may incorporate changes into future project plans
  • May write copy secures approvals and coordinates layout and production with appropriate internal or outside personnel
  • Creates marketing materials and communications as necessary in support of various projects and other work
  • May implement project plans; communicates with various internal personnel and outside vendors to coordinate projects; may negotiate pricing and other matters with outside vendors as appropriate; monitors projects builds and ensures that schedules and budgets are maintained and resolves problems as necessary; may secure approvals as needed


Education & Experience:

  • Bachelors degree or progressive work experience in addition to experience below
  • 2-4 years related experience required
  • In-depth project management experience
  • Extensive knowledge of financial services marketing practices and techniques
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Vendor relationship experience preferred
  • Supervisory experience helpful
  • Excellent communication skills including strong writing ability
  • Effective presentation skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • PC skills in Word Excel PowerPoint QuickBase
