The stunning Forbes 4-Star Conrad New York is looking for a Assistant Director of Catering and Events to join the leadership team!
Stay inspired and join the pinnacle of luxury in the heart of Lower Manhattan featuring 463 rooms 30000 square feet of banquet space and 3 food and beverage outlets. This includes a 3-meal restaurant rooftop bar and in-room dining.
In this role you will be supporting the Director in many areas such as coaching and mentoring the team as well as forecasting budgeting and goal setting.
The ideal candidate will have at least three (3) years Hospitality related experience at manager level with a minimum of one (1) year of project management or management experience. It would be advantageous in this position for you to demonstrate the following capabilities and distinctions:

What will I be doing
As the Assistant Director of Catering you will lead the growth and development of targeted market segments by cultivating new client relationships negotiating proposals and contracts and securing business opportunities. Youll play a key role in crafting innovative menus and event concepts that enhance guest experiences and drive revenue. Maintaining strong connections with existing corporate and social clients will also be this role youll collaborate closely with the Director of Catering & Events to deliver exceptional guest service foster team engagement achieve financial goals and champion strategic leadership talent development cultural excellence innovation and seamless event execution. You will also serve as a representative and support system for the Director of Catering & Events when needed.
Specifically your essential functions will be to perform the following tasks to the highest standards:
STRATEGY:
Drive innovation and creativity within event delivery
Ensure that high quality service standards are maintained through continuous reviews of processes and procedures
Actively support the sales process.
LEADERSHIP:
Support leadership and direction in all Catering matters.
Serve as a highly visible participatory leader who proactively and consistently engages with their General Manager/Executive Committee Sales Catering and Events team members external guests and suppliers
Remain current on event trends to evaluate innovative ways for process/practice improvements and shares best practices
Participate or represent Hilton in industry social/meeting/events professional associations
CULTURE:
Inspire high-performing multi-cultural multi-generational teams that build Hiltons Events talent pipeline
Integrate Hiltons Values/Mission/Purpose when implementing Event initiatives and support Team Member-centric and guest-centric programs
Lead with Hilton culture engaging with Team Members through direct and meaningful interactions
Be an ambassador for customer service.

CATERING OPERATIONS EXCELLENCE:
Assist to ensure the proper use of all function space exhibit hall and event spaces
Assist to manage supplier and vendor relationships
Possess subject matter expertise and ensure standards/practices
Assist in the development and management of departmental budgets
Assist in short medium and long-term forecasting and actual cost reporting for events
Assist to ensure proper staffing for the needs of the business
Assist to integrate current trends in event management and design
Participate in customer site inspections and assists with the sales process as necessary
Salary range: $100k $130k commensurate with experience.
What are we looking for
Minimum Years of Experience: three (3) years Hospitality related experience at manager level.
Minimum of 1 year of project management or management experience.
Other requirements: Travel percentage: 10%
It would be advantageous in this position for you to demonstrate the following capabilities and distinctions:
Knowledge of the hotel property management systems ()
Significant experience in revenue management or a similar analytical role
Relevant degree in business development or other relevant business field from an academic institution (CMP CPCE)
