The Senior HR Business Partner (Sr. HRBP) is a highly strategic and influential role providing advanced HR leadership and guidance to senior executives and business units. The Sr. HRBP will leverage their extensive HR expertise and business acumen to align talent strategies with business goals drive organizational development and support a high-performance culture. This role requires strong leadership deep knowledge of HR best practices and at least 5-7 years of HR experience with demonstrated experience in leading complex HR initiatives. This role may also lead a team of HRBP/PSC roles.This position offers a hybrid work option. Nelnet values flexibility and understands the importance of work-life integration. Our hybrid work environment allows associates living within 30 miles of an office location to work remotely for part of the week while also fostering collaboration and team connection through in-office presence three days per week.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Strategic HR Leadership: Serve as a key advisor to senior leadership influencing business strategy through expert HR insights and providing recommendations to improve organizational effectiveness and workforce planning.
Organizational Design & Development: Lead the development and implementation of organizational design initiatives restructurings and cultural transformation programs to support evolving business needs.
Change Management: Drive large-scale change management efforts leading initiatives related to mergers acquisitions integrations and other significant business transformations.
Talent Strategy & Leadership Development: Develop and execute talent management strategies including succession planning and leadership development for key leaders.
Associate Relations & Risk Management: Provide counsel on complex associate relations issues partnering with legal and compliance teams to mitigate risks and ensure fair and consistent treatment across the organization.
HR Analytics & Metrics: Utilize advanced HR analytics to inform decision-making identify trends and support business cases for talent initiatives workforce optimization and retention strategies.
HR Policy Development & Compliance: Ensure the organizations HR policies are compliant with labor laws and reflect best practices. Lead initiatives to update or develop policies in response to changing business or legal requirements.
Performance Management & Associate Engagement: Oversee the performance management process ensuring alignment with business goals and driving associate engagement through data-driven strategies.
Compensation & Benefits Strategy: Collaborate with compensation and benefits teams to develop competitive compensation strategies ensure market competitiveness and align rewards with business objectives.
EDUCATION:
Bachelors degree in Human Resources Business Administration or related field; advanced degree (MBA MS in HR) or professional certifications (SPHR SHRM-SCP) preferred.
EXPERIENCE:
Experience: Minimum of 5-7 years of HR experience with a focus on strategic HR business partnership organizational development and executive-level advisory.
COMPETENCIES SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE/ABILITIES:
Business Acumen: Deep understanding of business operations and the ability to translate business objectives into impactful HR strategies.
Coaching & Mentorship: Experience coaching and mentoring HR professionals and business leaders to drive performance and leadership development. May also be required to have experience leading an HR team to drive a unified HR strategy for a large/complex business unit.
Influence & Leadership: Strong ability to build relationships influence key stakeholders and serve as a trusted advisor to senior leaders and executives.
Change Leadership: Proven experience leading large-scale change management initiatives with a focus on improving organizational agility and resilience.
Advanced Problem Solving: Expertise in addressing complex associate relations performance and organizational challenges with a focus on long-term solutions.
HR Expertise: In-depth knowledge of HR laws regulations policies and best practices especially in the areas of employment law compensation and talent management.
Analytical & Data-Driven: Ability to leverage HR metrics and analytics to inform decisions and provide data-driven insights on workforce planning and talent strategies.
Strategic Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to present complex information to senior leadership and influence decision-making.
Pay range for this role is $90000-$120000 annually depending on experience.
