As a member of the servant leadership team at Camp Wojtyla you are asked to dedicate yourself fully for eleven weeks of the summer to the mission of Camp Wojtyla by working directly with middle school and high school students through Catholic outdoor adventures. As a part of a dynamic team you will live in close community with camp counselors who share the common goal of growing in holiness and virtue. Your role at Camp Wojtyla is a servant leader. You will serve God by placing prayer as a priority in your day as well as giving of your whole self to the campers and the staff community. Think of this commitment as an eleven-week mission trip during which you will grow spiritually and personally through incredible service and adventure.
This program is typically designed for college age candidates. We will consider applicants that have finished or will have finished one year after graduating HS all the way up to the year that the candidate graduates at College (or similar). Exceptions might occur for older candidates and will be decided on case by case basis.
This application is for those who have not served at Camp Wojtyla in the past. It is for both those applying for basecamp counselor position or interested in applying for backpacking instructor role. Named after Saint Pope John Paul II, who loved to minister to young people in the outdoors, Camp Wojtyla is a Catholic summer camp adventure program, for middle schoolers and high schoolers, located on 1,200 pristine acres of wilderness in the heart of the Colorado Rockies.
