• Location: This role can be based anywhere in Canada (excluding Quebec) as a fully remote position. For candidates located in the Vancouver BC Lower Mainland there is flexibility to work remote hybrid or onsite at our Surrey headquarters.
• Annual Base Salary: $106100 - $121000 CAD Profit Sharing Bonus eligibility

C Software Developer III Database

Safe Software is looking for a C Software Developer III to join our Database team. As a Software Developer III you will architect and develop state-of-the-art software solutions lead and mentor other developers drive innovation and best practices in software engineering and contribute significantly to the strategic planning of software projects.

About The Team

As a part of the Database team youllI join a group of developers and a quality analyst who implement software in C as well as some Python and Java. The Database Team is responsible for extending and improving FMEs access to database systems. Our goal is for FME to load and query this data with excellent fidelity performance and flexibility.

What Youll Be Doing

As a Software Developer III you will:

• Lead the design and development of complex software projects ensuring they meet business requirements and are delivered on time and within budget.
• Serve as a technical leader and mentor to junior and mid-level developers promoting a culture of excellence innovation and continuous learning.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align software development activities with business goals and customer needs.
• Participate in technical design sessions for product development and technology roadmap.
• Ensure the creation and maintenance of comprehensive documentation for software systems and processes.
• Take ownership of key components or systems ensuring their reliability performance and alignment with business goals.
• Contribute to the improvement of internal development processes and software development lifecycle.
• Stay abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies advocating for the adoption of new tools and practices that can benefit the team and company.

Qualifications Skills and Competencies

Required skills:

• Technical Skills: Advanced proficiency in C programming language and development environments. Strong understanding of software architecture design patterns and best practices.
• Experience: 5 years of experience in software development with a proven track record of successful project contributions and technical leadership.
• Education: Bachelors degree in Computer Science Software Engineering or related field.
• Soft Skills: Excellent leadership and communication skills with the ability to mentor effectively and foster a collaborative team environment. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Safe Software-Specific Qualifications: Deep understanding of Safe Softwares products customer needs and the competitive landscape.

Desired skills / Bonus points:

• SQL and other database technologies
• Experience with Python and/or Java would be an asset.
