Job Summary

Overview

The Patient Services Specialist I performs routine front-end clinical operations activities which include but are not limited to: registration cashiering gathering and providing appropriate information collecting co-pays and answering the phones. The Patient Services Specialist I interacts with patients families clinicians administrative staff and third-party payers in a courteous and professional manner.

Responsibilities

  1. Responsible for complete and accurate patient registration/check-in.
  2. Collect co-pays provide receipts and provide timely accounting for all collected cash and payments. Identify discrepancies and immediately work with the supervisor to resolve issues.
  3. Obtain necessary and required information for both registration and financial documentation needed to complete the check in process.
  4. Provide information to callers as well as direct callers to the correct destination.
  5. Respond to patients families and clinic issues in a timely and professional manner provide routine financial benefits and seek assistance from the supervisor when obtaining answers to resolve patient issues.
  6. Maintain a general and updated understanding of insurance requirements as they relate to the Care Center.
  7. Retrieve and assess system information related to insurance authorization for patient services from the Patient Access Department.
  8. Monitor Epic work que for tracking internal/external consults.

Qualifications

EDUCATION:

High School Diploma or equivalent required.

EXPERIENCE:

0 - 2 years of experience in patient registration required.

Minimum pay range

USD $37132.78/Yr.

Maximum pay range

USD $60215.17/Yr.
