Data Analyst Specialist

You bridge the gap between business data and technology. You identify the needs for data of the data scientists and translate them into the right data products.

You will be working in an international team of professionals that have a true passion for what they do. Day to day:

  • As a Data Analyst Specialist you are responsible for the availability and quality of the data for our Risk- and Non-Regulatory Models.
  • Responsible for the Coordination of the Data collection and the Data analysis at content level.
  • Responsible for improving the data content and data quality at the source level.
  • Together with the team of modelers you decide what data is necessary to successfully develop a model.
  • You will investigate if the requested data is already available on the Azure Data Platform.
  • If not you will work closely together with departments in different countries to collect and test the data.
  • You will also work closely together with IT to automate the onboarding of the data on the Azure data platform from different applications.
  • Next step is to test the quality of the data. If necessary you will initiate actions together with IT and the application owners to improve the data quality.
  • If the necessary data is available and of good quality you are responsible to transform the data into an integrated model dataset and make it available to the modelers.
  • This is an iterative process until the model meets the required performance.
  • Together with the team you are responsible for the data on the data platform and help ensure that there is proper governance around changes in the model data landscape.
  • You will also support documentation of data collection and testing activities as well as validation of these activities by the Model Validation team where needed.
  • You will provide guidance and support to less experienced team members in the above areas.
  • You will in the above activities interact with stakeholders from many different teams/departments such as Predictive Modelling Data Management (local) Finance Sales and IT.
  • You will report to the manager Data Analytics.

Essentials:

  • A Bachelor or Masters degree in a data- or IT-related field.
  • 5-7 years of professional experience working in a similar role.
  • Understanding data is a true passion of yours.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proven experience in executing quantitative analyses using SQL and R/Python and ability to work with MS Excel.
  • Proven Experience in working with Microsoft Azure technology and Databricks.
  • You have a good eye for detail and strong interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated affinity with the development of predictive models.
  • You are a self-starter and able to work in an organization with a complex system and data landscape.
  • Strong analytical and project management skills.

Extras:

  • Knowledge and experience with the application of Agile and Scrum practices.
  • Prior experience working in the Finance industry / credit risk domain and knowledge of relevant regulation.
  • Preference to work in a dynamic international environment.
