Responsibilities

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Clinical CMA LPN or RN to join our family medicine team in Johnston Iowa. This role is vital in providing high-quality patient-centered care in a fast-paced outpatient clinic environment. The ideal candidate will be a strong team player with excellent communication and clinical skills ready to support a wide variety of patient care duties under the direction of providers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Room patients obtain and document vital signs medical history and reason for visit.

  • Administer medications and injections as directed by providers.

  • Assist with minor procedures and examinations.

  • Perform point-of-care testing EKGs immunizations and specimen collection.

  • Accurately document in the electronic medical record (EMR).

  • Provide patient education and follow-up care instructions.

  • Manage patient phone calls prescription refills and communication between patients and providers.

  • Maintain cleanliness and readiness of exam rooms and equipment.

  • Support front office and clinical workflows to ensure a smooth patient experience.

  • Follow all clinical protocols and regulatory requirements to ensure patient safety.

Qualifications

For Certified Medical Assistant (CMA):

  • Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program.

  • Active CMA certification required through one of the following organizations:

    • AAMA (American Association of Medical Assistants)

    • NCCT (National Center for Competency Testing)

    • AMT (American Medical Technologists RMA)

    • NHA (National Healthcareer Association)

For Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN):

  • Current Iowa LPN license in good standing.

For Registered Nurse (RN):

  • Current Iowa RN license in good standing.

All Candidates Must Have:

  • Current BLS certification or ability to obtain upon hire.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Experience in a clinical outpatient setting preferred.
