Position Summary:

TheOptical Sales associateplays a vital role as the first point of contact for patients selecting eyewear. This individual provides expert guidance on frame and lens selection ensures accurate order processing and delivers exceptional customer service to create a positive optical shopping experience. The Optical Sales associate supports the optical departments daily operations maintains accurate product inventory and collaborates with the clinical and administrative teams to ensure seamless patient care and satisfaction.

Job Duties & Essential Functions:

Patient Interaction & Optical Sales

• Greet and assist patients in a warm professional and courteous manner ensuring an excellent first impression.
• Consult patients to determine their eyewear needs preferences and lifestyle requirements.
• Provide expert recommendations on frame styles lens materials coatings and tints.
• Explain lens options insurance coverage and pricing clearly and accurately.
• Process eyewear orders accurately ensuring prescriptions and measurements are entered correctly.
• Perform frame adjustments and minor repairs to ensure patient comfort and satisfaction.

Product Knowledge & Presentation

• Maintain an up-to-date understanding of optical products including frames lenses coatings and contact lenses.
• Stay informed on current fashion trends to help patients select stylish eyewear options.
• Assist with merchandising and product displays to create an inviting retail environment.
• Monitor product inventory and communicate stock needs to the Optical Manager or designated supervisor.

Administrative & Operational Support

• Accurately process payments manage cash transactions and reconcile daily sales reports.
• Collaborate with insurance coordinators to verify patient benefits and submit optical claims as needed.
• Maintain accurate records of orders repairs and warranties in the electronic medical record (EMR) and point-of-sale (POS) systems.
• Assist with opening and closing optical operations including cleaning display areas organizing frames and securing inventory.
• Ensure adherence to HIPAA regulations and maintain confidentiality of all patient health and financial information.

Customer Retention & Follow-up

• Follow up with patients regarding order status backorders or delayed shipments.
• Handle patient concerns or complaints promptly and professionally to ensure satisfaction.
• Assist in marketing and promotional efforts to increase optical sales and patient engagement.

Required Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Minimum of one (1) year of experience in optical retail sales or a customer service environment.
• Strong customer service skills with a professional and friendly demeanor.
• Excellent organizational time management and multitasking abilities.
• Excellent verbal communication and active listening abilities.
• Comfortable engaging in face-to-face interactions with patients and staff.
• Ability to perform accurate measurements for pupillary distance and frame adjustments.

Work Schedule:

• Rotating Schedule including days evenings and weekends

Salary Range:

• $21.00
