As a Sr Buyer you will support our Supply Chain Team in managing costs and suppliers of goods and materials necessary for our operations. You will be integral to maintaining the seamless flow of our supply chain ensuring inventory is properly managed cost effectively and aligned with our strategic goals.This position will report to the Raw Material and Procurement Manager in the Finance department

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Fosters supplier relationships and manages end-to-end initiatives related to category specific suppliers.
- This position will collaborate frequently with key partners in food safety/quality finance and operations/engineering.
- Negotiates pricing on annual contracts and collaborates with planning team on contract volumes.
- Ensures all supplier quality metrics are being met and works cross-functionally and with vendors to resolve quickly any challenges
- Assists in the development and execution of sourcing strategies that support business objectives including cost savings productivity projects.
- Champions continuous process improvement by identifying areas of efficiency enhancement and implementing innovative solutions.
- Gathers and evaluates supplier information such as lead times product specifications and delivery terms.
- Tracks and reports key performance indicators such as YoY spend obsolescence and cost savings initiatives.
- Ensure all food safety protocols and GMPs are met while executing tasks relevant to role.
- Clearly reflect food safety and quality as part of the JP brand when planning and executing projects and while interacting with relevant external and internal stakeholders.
- Adhere to the Supplier Approval Program by working closely with FSQA and R&D.
- Relevant training will be provided
Minimum Qualifications
- 5 years procurement experience
- Bachelors degree in Supply Chain Management Business related field or experience working in Supply Chain/Purchasing
- Strong decision making skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite particularly Excel for data analysis.
- Familiarity with procurement and inventory management software; Oracle NetSuite experience is a plus.
- Knowledge of supply chain management principles and best practices.
- Highly ethical and able to maintain confidentiality when dealing with sensitive information.
- Experience working within a manufacturing environment strongly preferred
