EAL Co-Ordinator

Highdown School and Sixth Form Centre is seeking a conscientious and enthusiastic EAL Co-Ordinator to join their hardworking and dedicated team.

This is an exciting opportunity for a knowledgeable and proactive co-ordinator to join the vibrant team at Highdown Secondary School and Sixth Form. You will play a key role in providing support for students from all key stages alongside bespoke support for students with English as an Additional Language needs. What we are looking for

• Experience in teaching English as an Additional Language and supporting students within a similar environment
• ESOL training or willing to gain TEFL qualification if needed
• Knowledge and understanding of the need to maintain a consistent calm environment and the ability to manage any changes to the environment appropriately
• Confidence in liaising with staff across the school in the development of appropriate materials and resources to support students learning
• A flexible conscientious and collaborative approach to supporting staff and students
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to work independently and use initiative
• A good general education including GCSEs in English and Maths
• A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young people

Salary: GLF Specialist range 30791 - 35984 FTE

Actual Salary: 23546 - 27517

Hours of work: 32hrs per week (Mon - Fri) - 39 weeks per year
