The role & you

We are currently looking for a Planning Investigations Engineer to join our Water & Systems Team at MidCoast Council. This position sits within the Water Planning & Assets department of the Infrastructure and Engineering Services Division and is responsible for providing engineering expertise to Council regarding water and sewerage system defects failures and issues.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Coordinating andundertaking investigations using root cause analysis site visits and stakeholder consultation.
  • Providing high quality water and sewerage designs cost estimates and plans in accordance with industry best practice.
  • Supporting the Water Asset Planning Coordinator by providing project management services for water and sewerage planning and design
  • Ensuring projects are completed on time and on budget.

We are looking for an individual who has the ability to develop and maintain constructive relationships and who can contribute to the achievement of organisational outcomes. The successful candidate will hold a degree level qualification in Civil Engineering Mechanical Engineering Environmental Engineering or similar discipline. They will also have demonstrated working knowledge of hydraulic design and water and sewerage system functions.

This position plays a pivotal role which requires a positive and self-motivated professional who can work collaboratively within a dynamic team to make a difference to our local community.

Salary: Base salary $94500 p.a. - $113400.00 p.a. (commencing salary will be negotiated with the successful candidate depending on qualifications skills and experience)

  • Civil Liability Allowance (3.5% of base salary)
  • Superannuation (12%)

Location: This position will be based at our Administration Centre in Yalawanyi Ganya at 2 Biripi Way Taree. You may also be required to be based from other Council sites across the MidCoast Council region.

Tenure: Permanent Full Time.
