Located in the Phoenix Ariz. suburb of Chandler the Chandler Regional Medical Center is a 429-bed not-for-profit hospital with more than 2600 team members and almost 1000 doctors on staff representing all major specialties. Chandler Regional joined the Dignity Health system in 1999 but has been part of the community for more than 50 years. The hospital includes a Level I Trauma Center a Heart and Vascular Center a Wound Healing Center a Family Birth Center and many additional services. Dignity Health Chandler Regional Mercy Gilbert and Arizona General Hospital Mesa awarded $422000 in grants to support five community projects led by 15 local organizations. Since 1991 Dignity Healths Community Health Improvement Grants program has provided $91 million to nearly 3800 health projects focusing on vulnerable and underserved populations.
Job Summary and Responsibilities
The trauma registrar is responsible for abstracting data from patient records and entering accurate data into the Trauma Patient Registry. The trauma registrar will be a self-motivated individual with attention to detail who prides themselves on excelling at the job: ensures consistency and quality in the trauma database. This position requires both AIS and ICD-10 injury coding. Works closely with the Trauma Registry Supervisor and Trauma Program Manager.
Job Requirements
Expectations:
- Three years experience in a medical setting.
- Familiarity with ICD-10 coding and data abstraction/entry.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology including anatomy and physiology.
- High School Diploma/GED
- ICD-10 coding medical terminology data entry in a medical setting. Microsoft applications.
- Remote in Phoenix Arizona Market must attend local meetings at Phoenix Campus.
