Position Overview
As a Body Shop Technician Apprentice youll work alongside experienced technicians and learn the hands-on skills needed to become a professional collision repair technician. Key Responsibilities
- Collaboration and Communication:
- Work closely with estimators to understand blueprinting repair plans and timelines.
- Communicate with parts associates to ensure timely delivery of needed parts.
- Collaborate with other technicians and body shop staff to achieve efficient workflow.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical training or certification in automotive repair is preferred.
- Mechanical aptitude or prior experience working with tools preferred.
- Proficiency in using a variety of tools and equipment including welding machines frame straighteners and spray guns.
- Ability to read and interpret repair manuals and technical specifications.
- Excellent attention to detail and quality craftsmanship.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to work efficiently and manage time effectively.
- Valid drivers license with a clean driving record.
- Dependable punctual and detail-oriented.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift and carry parts and equipment up to 50 pounds.
- Frequent standing walking bending and kneeling.
- Ability to work in a body shop environment which may involve exposure to loud noises dust and fumes.
Work Environment
- Primarily in a body shop environment.
- May involve occasional exposure to extreme temperatures depending on the season and shop conditions.
