Saint John Paul II Catholic Academy is currently seeking a short-term substitute teacher for a second grade classroom from the beginning of November through the end of December. Position Overview:We are looking for a short-term second grade substitute teacher who will be responsible for delivering a developmentally appropriate and engaging curriculum that emphasizes Catholic values literacy mathematics and social-emotional learning. The ideal candidate will have experience working with young children and a commitment to creating a safe nurturing and supportive classroom Responsibilities:Plan implement and assess a comprehensive 2nd grade curriculum that aligns with school and state standards while incorporating Catholic a positive inclusive and respectful classroom atmosphere that supports the academic emotional and social development of all a variety of teaching methods and materials to meet the diverse learning styles and needs of regular communication with parents/guardians regarding student progress classroom activities and school with fellow teachers and staff to implement school-wide initiatives and enrich students educational in ongoing professional development to stay current with best practices in the spiritual development of students through prayer participation in Mass and faith-based accurate records of student performance and behavior in accordance with school a safe and clean classroom environment adhering to health and safety :Bachelors degree in Early Childhood Education Elementary Education or a related field preferredPrevious experience teaching or working with young children in an educational of child development early childhood education principles and effective classroom management communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with students parents and colleagues.A commitment to Catholic education and the ability to model and integrate Catholic values in the to work collaboratively in a team Qualifications:Experience in urban education with diverse learning needs and differentiated skills are beneficial (Spanish Haitian creole Vietnamese etc.).Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) licensure or Department of Early Education and Care (EEC) certification preferred
