Job Summary

Function: A Special Education Resource Teacher will provide remedial and/or supportive educational activities for students with diagnosed handicaps as indicated in their Individual Educational Plan. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Assists in the screening evaluation and placement of students in special education an individualized and sequential program for students diagnosed as handicapped who require special individualized and/or small-group instruction according to the needs specified in the individualized educational educational assessments classroom observation and vocational assessments when requested by the multidisciplinary in multi-disciplinary team meetings when necessary as determined by the the student family and teachers in making a realistic assessment of students cooperatively with classroom teachers interprets the abilities and disabilities of students referred from regular classes and assists students with regular class other professional staff members in resolving the unique psychological or behavioral problems of such accurate records on all students evaluated and other responsibilities as may be assigned.Required Qualifications:RIDE Teaching Certification K-8MLL TEaching Certification is a plus
