Leveraging advanced technologies such as 3T MRI 128-slice CT X-ray and ultrasoundcoupled with our cutting-edge digital cytology labwe ensure optimal diagnostic accuracy allowing our referring veterinarians to plan the most effective treatments. Our ACVR-accredited clinics are teaching institutions that train veterinary interns and residents to become radiologists and the technical staff is a critical part of that process. Qualifications

  • Licensed or Registered Veterinary Technician with a comprehensive background in veterinary medicine
  • Exhibits a professional image and approach
  • Consistent and reliable with a proactive approach to responsibilities and a strong sense of ownership
  • Strong communication abilities with adept problem-solving and organizational skills
  • Demonstrates emotional intelligence and fosters a collaborative high-performance team environment
  • Interest in and understanding of advanced diagnostic imaging and patient care during procedures and recovery
  • Proficient in induction and intubating patients
  • Ability to operate a variety of anesthetic machines and circuits including ventilator rebreather and non-rebreather systems
  • Ability to perform and experience with cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR)
  • Minimum of 3 years in specialty veterinary medicine preferred


Responsibilities

  • Deliver safe and effective anesthesia and sedation ensuring efficient quality and compassionate patient care throughout all procedures
  • Ensure technical procedures are performed according to SVIs standard operating procedures in a timely manner
  • Obtain patient histories and manage updates in ezyVet practice management software
  • Communicate patient care plans estimates consent forms and details on diagnostic and biopsy procedures to clients and team
  • Conduct patient evaluations through vitals and diagnostic tests such as bloodwork ECG cytology radiographs etc.
  • Perform venipuncture IV catheter placement fluid administration intubation anesthesia induction and prep for imaging procedures
  • Monitor anesthesia and vital signs; manage contingencies and respond effectively during emergencies
  • Administer medications and treatments as directed by veterinarians maintaining a working knowledge of common drug applications and dosages
  • Assist in a range of diagnostic imaging processes including X-ray nuclear medicine ultrasound CT and MRI
  • Participate in our teaching program
  • Implement radiation safety measures and assist with I-131 therapy administration
  • Maintain hospital cleanliness and manage medical and lab inventory

Job Details

  • Type: Full-Time
  • Wage: $24.00 $28.00 per hour (based on experience leadership skills technical expertise training and licensure)

Schedule

  • 8-hour shifts
  • Daytime availability
  • Rotating Saturday mornings
  • 40 hours per week
  • Some travel to other imaging centers may be required


Education

  • High school diploma or equivalent (required)
  • Post-secondary education preferred
  • Veterinary technician license required


Experience

  • Veterinary field: 5 years (minimum)
  • Specialty veterinary medicine: 3 years (preferred)
  • Prior lead or management experience preferred


Relocation & Work Location

  • Round Rock TX 78681: Relocate before starting work (required)
