Job Description & Summary

Our Deals Tax team works closely with our Deals practice to advise on the tax implications of all aspects of transactions including; Mergers & Acquisition Business Recovery Services and Real Estate. Part of the wider Corporate Tax network we work collaboratively across specialisms to drive value and help our clients succeed at all stages of the deal lifecycle.

The role sits within the Private Equity Portfolio (PE Portfolio) Tax teamone of the most successful teams within PwCs Deals Tax network. The team operates on a national basis so that no matter where individuals are located we bring the best experts to our clients and the broadest range of opportunities to our people. Responsibilities

  • Lead teams to deliver bespoke commercially focused tax advice in a fast-paced and evolving international deals market
  • Responsibility for establishing and maintaining relationships as a trusted advisor; leading client engagements and work across our Deals business to lead multi-disciplinary solutions to clients
  • Be proactive in seeking opportunities to deliver and enhance value for new and existing clients
  • Use your internal network to draw upon specialist input on tax and non-tax matters in connection with transactions
  • Overall responsibility for ensuring successful delivery and management of projects including financial performance
  • Take an active role in contributing to the strategic vision of the Deals Tax Team - working to capture opportunities for growth and diversification
  • Lead by example in your personal development coaching your team to advance their learning and fulfil their own potential
  • Be agile and open minded in your approach to new challenges and seek opportunities to enhance project delivery through new technologies
  • Leading the tax relationship and delivery of corporate tax advice on existing Private Equity backed clients.
  • Identifying opportunities to expand the relationship beyond corporate tax (e.g. specialists in Deals tax the wider tax practice and also xlos). This would include referring work back to PECS where applicable.
  • Targeting and successfully winning work on new portfolio businesses by using the relationships and insight built by PECS on transactions

Essential skills and experience

  • Chartered Accountant (ACCA ICAEW ICAS CAI) or Chartered Tax Advisor (ATT CTA) or equivalent international or legal professional qualification
  • Extensive experience successfully leading teams on a number of PE transactions including due diligence structuring & tax modelling
  • Strong understanding of indirect and transfer taxes management taxes and international tax principles
  • A substantive proven track record of building internal and external relationships and networks both within the UK and overseas
  • Developed communication skills specifically in negotiating with and influencing others
  • An inquisitive mind and ability to solve problems as part of a diverse team
  • Ability to use tax technical knowledge & insights in a fast paced commercial environment
  • Proven ability to win client engagements and develop new business relationships with clients.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills able to work collaboratively with people at all levels in a confident manner
