Devereux Arizonas Residential Treatment Center (RTC) is a beautiful 24-hour 10-acre campus located in the heart of Scottsdale. The RTC is a safe supportive environment that provides various services to youth from the ages of 7 to 17 who are experiencing emotional behavioral or substance abuse challenges. The Campus features dormitories a therapeutic K-12 day school food services medical/nursing and therapy services.

Reporting to the Administrative Support Services Coordinator the Medical Records Specialist (Part-Time) is responsible for the daily management oversight coordination and standardization of the medical records function for the RTC. The Medical Records Specialist establishes new patient records and maintains ongoing records by scanning and attaching record information into the electronic health record system throughout the course of the patients treatment and preparing charts for audits and internal reviews/tracers. Other clerical duties include preparing reports for clinical staff sending reports to external customers such as courts guardians and medical professionals as well as faxing scanning and emailing for appropriate record keeping. This position will also be crossed trained in admissions to cover the referral and admissions process.

Pay Range: $18/hr - $19.80/hr

Part Time Schedule: Three (3) days/week must have weekend availbility (schedules are subject to change)

Qualifications

  • Must be 21 years of age or older
  • High School diploma or GED required
  • One (1) year of medical records experience in an office setting required
  • Comprehensive knowledge of administrative office practices with progressive responsibility; attention to detail
  • Comprehensive knowledge of computer application programs and ability to operate standard office machines (computer phone fax scan email files); familiarity with EMR preferred

  • Must attend mandatory New Hire Orientation: Mon-Fri 8:30am-5:00pm (paid)
  • Valid Arizona Drivers License & pass DMV 36-month history check
  • Pre-employment Physical and Job Demand Assessment (if applicable)
  • Drug test within 24hrs of offer w/ negative results
  • Current AZ Fingerprint Clearance Card with no restrictions (OR eligibility to obtain with no restrictions). Arizona Revised Statutes Notice (ARS 36-411 Residential care institutions; nursing care institutions; home health agencies; fingerprinting requirements; exemptions; definitions).
