This Behavioral Health Residential Coordinator (BHRC) is integral to both the CHP Utilization Management (UM) team and CHP Behavioral Health Unit (BHU). This position is primarily responsible for coordinating admission of CHP members to approved Behavioral Health Residential Treatment Programs: based on aligning the members treatment needs to the program scope and eligibility criteria. This encompasses oversight of full process from initial referral to admission transportation. The BHRC will build relationships with important stakeholders of the Arizona Medicaid Childrens System of Care including residential treatment providers health homes behavioral health clinicians and others. The BHRC will also work closely with other internal DCS departments including the Placement Unit and Contracts & Procurement.
This position may offer the ability to work remotely within Arizona based upon the departments business needs and continual meeting of expected performance measures.

- Provides intensive care coordination to CHP members approved for DCS-funded Behavioral Health Residential treatment which includes reviewing clinical documentation from members Child and Family Team (CFT) Meetings treatment providers CHP UM and BH Unit regarding members treatment needs and reasons for necessitating Behavioral Health Residential level of care; and participating in Clinical Case Reviews interdisciplinary Team Meetings Child and Family Team (CFTs) professional staffings and other clinical platforms as required; and liaising with the admissions/intake clinicians of all residential behavioral health that serve our members. Facilitates admission of member to the most clinically appropriate residential treatment program and problem-solve any potential barriers. Completes accurate and timely documentation of all care coordination activities.
- Coordinates with DCS Placement Unit and DCS Procurement departments regarding service authorizations. This includes timely notification of admissions discharges and changes in level of care within the same facility.
- Maintains a comprehensive list of all the Therapeutic Foster Care Behavioral Health Residential Facilities and Behavioral Health Inpatient Facilities in Arizona and out-of-state that serve our youth including program descriptions eligibility/exclusionary criteria and admissions contacts.
- Maintains a comprehensive and accurate list of all the members that are in or awaiting admission to DCS-funded behavioral health level of care.
- Compiles basic data measures on above tasks to be shared at weekly huddles and other internal meetings.
- Other duties as assigned as related to the position.

Requires the possession of and ability to retain a current valid state-issued drivers license appropriate to the assignment. Employees who drive on state business are subject to drivers license record checks must maintain acceptable driving records and must complete any driver training (see Arizona Administrative Code R.11). Employees may be required to use their own transportation as well as maintain valid motor vehicle insurance and current Arizona vehicle registration. Mileage may be reimbursed if applicable. Must be able to secure and maintain an Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card; must be able to secure and maintain clearance from DCS Central Registry.
