Job Summary

Minimum Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED and 1 year experience working in institutional quality cooking.

Preferred Requirements:

  • Previous experience as a grill cook or line cook in a restaurant retail dining or campus food service environment preferred.

  • Knowledge of safe food handling and kitchen sanitation procedures required.

  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced production-oriented environment.

  • Strong attention to detail organization and teamwork skills.

  • Dependable and punctual with consistent attendance.

Additional Preferred Requirements:

  • Able to Work: Monday through Thursday 10:00 a.m. 7:45 p.m.

  • Requires standing for extended periods exposure to heat and operation of kitchen equipment.

  • Temporary non-benefited position.

  • Ability to work in all temperature conditions.

  • Ability to focus on priority projects and tasks.

  • Effective time management and organizational skills.

WHAT WILL YOU DO:

This position is responsible for preparing cooking and assembling grilled menu items.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

  • Maintain portion control food quality and visual presentation standards.

  • Operate and maintain grill and related kitchen equipment safely and efficiently.

  • Ensure compliance with university and state health department food safety and sanitation regulations.

  • Accurately time and coordinate multiple orders to ensure prompt service through online and pickup systems.

  • Restock ingredients and supplies throughout the shift and assist with daily opening and closing procedures.

  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the Courtyard Kitchen including proper food storage and labeling.

  • Provide professional and courteous service when interacting with staff.

  • Support team members and assist in other kitchen duties as needed.
