A Day in the Life
As the Medtronic Articulating Technologies team we combine high-tech device development expertise with best-in-class manufacturing know-how to help bring new and disruptive instrument technologies to market and to transform medical our fully equipped Research & Development (R&D) and pilot manufacturing center in Geleen product development and pilot manufacturing are seamlessly integrated under one roof.
As Senior Manufacturing Supervisor you are responsible for all production activities in this dynamic R&D environment ranging from small volume rapid prototyping series to higher volume pilot line manufacturing. You look after the day-to-day operations in the areas of Production Maintenance & Calibration Facilities and Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) & security. You manage a rapidly growing team of operators and equipment technicians. You take the opportunity to develop & grow in line with the ambitious vision of Medtronic Articulating Technologies. Your solution-oriented and proactive approach enable you to understand the relevant issues and you maintain a constant focus on ensuring smooth and error-free production. Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned:
- Ensures production goals are met in terms of output quality and cost by managing production schedules allocating resources and resolving issues efficiently
- Oversees optimal availability reliability and maintenance of production and R&D equipment to support continuous operations
- Manages daily Facilities tasks and serves as the main operational contact for external Facility service providers
- Handles day-to-day EHS and security-related activities and contributes actively as a member of the EHS team
- Leads and develops (senior) operators and equipment technicians ensuring efficient staffing and continuous personnel development
- Collaborates closely with engineering and supply chain teams makes budgetary recommendations for capital expenditures and labor and ensures strict adherence to the Quality Management System
- Drives continuous improvement initiatives across production to enhance efficiency quality and compliance
Required Knowledge and Experience:
- A bachelors degree in engineering combined with at least 5 years of relevant experience within a production environment; preferably in a strongly regulated environment like Medical Devices
- Experience in leading and developing teams
- Excellent communication skills (verbally and written) in Dutch and English and comfortable to work in an international environment
- Familiar with Lean Six Sigma methodologies preferably qualified as Green Belt or Black Belt
- Proficient with MS Office. Knowledge of ERP systems PowerBI and planning tools is a pre
