Position Overview:
The Software Engineer is responsible for the automation verification and continuous delivery of Flight and Ground Software ensuring compliance with mission safety and quality standards. This role integrates software verification and validation (V&V) with DevOps best practices to deliver auditable traceable and compliant software products throughout the lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design implement and maintain Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) pipelines supporting Flight and Ground Software development.
- Develop software verification plans test procedures and compliance reports in alignment with NASA AS9115 and AS9100 processes.
- Perform traceability analysis to ensure all L5 requirements are mapped to test cases and verification methods.
- Develop source code modules and automation scripts to support compliance checks for:
- Automate build and deployment processes for both local and system-on-a-chip hardware environments.
- Author and maintain test plans test procedures and test reports validating software requirement fulfillment.
- Participate in test readiness reviews peer reviews and audits to ensure verification quality and compliance.
- Collaborate with Systems Architects Software Engineers and V&V Engineers to integrate automated testing into the verification framework.
- Monitor and report build and test status including metrics such as test coverage build failures and system readiness.
- Maintain all documentation for CI/CD workflows verification baselines and compliance reports in accordance with submission requirements (Microsoft Office SFTP Jules).
- Provide weekly technical updates summarizing progress schedule status and issue mitigation activities.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Software Engineering Computer Science Electrical Engineering or a related technical field.
- 710 years of combined experience in software testing verification & validation (V&V) DevOps engineering or systems integration.
- Proficiency with CI/CD platforms (e.g. Jenkins GitLab CI Azure DevOps) and version control systems (e.g. Git Bitbucket).
- Experience with traceability and test management tools (DOORS Jama TestRail).
- Familiarity with AS9100/AS9115 quality frameworks and aerospace or lunar mission software assurance processes.
- Strong analytical documentation and communication skills with the ability to operate in secure and compliance-driven environments.
