| Job Description: | The Florida Planets Lab group led by PI Stephen Elardo seeks a postdoctoral associate for a NASA-funded project related to Fe isotope systematics in planetary materials. The postdoctoral associate will conduct research related to iron isotopic compositions in planetary bodies and magmatic processes using high-pressure and -temperature isotope exchange experiments. Measurements will be made on the experimental run products using MC-ICP-MS and the postdoctoral associate will make the measurements analyze the data prepare manuscripts and present the results at conferences. There will be opportunities for mentoring student researchers. Performs or supervises research on assigned projects. Coordinates project activities and repots on progress. Writes articles for publication. Prepares research and presents to applicable parties as needed. Compiles data for funding proposals. Trains and mentors subordinate research associates and undergraduate students. Assists with the writing of funding proposals. UF is located in Gainesville a city of approximately 150000 residents in North-Central Florida 50 miles from the Gulf of Mexico and 67 miles from the Atlantic Ocean and within a 2-hour drive to large metropolitan areas (Orlando Tampa Jacksonville). The beautiful climate and extensive nearby parks and recreational areas afford year-round outdoor activities including hiking biking and nature photography. UFs large college sports programs museums and performing arts center support a range of activities and cultural events for residents to enjoy.
