Job Summary

Seeking a Civil Engineer with highway/site design experience for a direct hire opportunity with our client in New York NY.

Salary is between $105000 - $115000 per year (based on experience)

We are seeking an experienced Civil Engineer to join our team and support site and roadway design projects under the direction and supervision of a Principal Civil Engineer. The selected candidate will represent the civil design staff and be responsible for conceptual and final design of roadway and site improvement projects at the Authoritys facilities. Typical projects include rehabilitation or reconstruction of existing roadways and various site infrastructure improvements.

Responsibilities:

Perform conceptual and detailed design for roadway and site development projects including roadway rehabilitation reconstruction and miscellaneous civil site work.
Prepare engineering plans specifications cost estimates and contract documents in accordance with project and regulatory requirements.
Utilize AutoCAD Civil 3D to produce design models grading plans alignments and construction drawings.
Apply AASHTO standards and other applicable design guidelines throughout all project phases.
Coordinate with the Principal Civil Engineer and multidisciplinary teams to ensure design quality compliance and timely delivery.
Support field evaluations and data collection to inform design decisions.
Maintain project documentation and communicate effectively with clients consultants and contractors.
Use standard business software applications such as Microsoft Word Excel and Outlook for reporting and correspondence.

Qualifications:

Minimum 2 years of relevant highway or site design experience and at least 4 years of total engineering design experience (project management or construction management experience will not be considered relevant).
Bachelors Degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited college or university.
Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D for roadway and site design applications.
Experience preparing contract documents specifications and cost estimates.
Familiarity with AASHTO and related design standards.
Valid drivers license.
Strong communication and organizational skills with proficiency in Microsoft Word Excel and Outlook.
