Job Responsibilities
Under limited supervision from the Warden Chief of Inmate Grievance Branch and Central Office Inmate Grievance Administrators performs a wide variety of administrative duties for the Inmate Grievance Branch.
Investigates grievances by conducting thorough and impartial inquiries of circumstances pertaining to grievances through interviews with inmates and staff.
Analyzes specific information obtained and prepares recommendations designed to resolve problems at the lowest possible level.
Reviews and researches SCDC policies relevant/mandated statues disciplinary tapes and any documentation related to grievances.
Interprets rules regulations policies and procedures as they apply to day-to-day operations and to the grievance procedures accepts and forwards appeals to the central office serves inmates with step 1 and step 2 grievance decisions and performs other duties as assigned.
Must successfully complete four (4) weeks of SCDC Basic Training upon hire.Questions regarding the application process this job posting or any other postings with the SCDC should be directed to:

Minimum and Additional Requirements
State of South Carolina Minimum Requirements:
A high school diploma and relevant program experience.
SCDC Minimum Requirements:
(Or an acceptable equivalency as approved by the Division of State Human Resources).
Four (4) years of responsible clerical secretarial or administrative experience preferably in a correctional or law enforcement setting.
A bachelors degree may be substituted for the related work experience.
Required to have experience in CRT and/or personal computers.
Preferred Qualifications
Leadership law enforcement/paralegal/research or investigations are preferred.
