Position Summary
The Assistant Residential Manager plays a dual role of leadership and direct support within GIL Foundations Adults with Disabilities Program. This position assists in managing daily operations while also working hands-on with clients to support their personal care daily living and community participation. The ideal candidate is dependable compassionate and skilled in leading a team while maintaining a person-centered respectful approach to client care.
Second Shift Full Time Schedule:
Sun- 2pm-10pm
Mon-Tues 12pm-10pm
Wed-Thurs 12p-6p
Fri-Sat OFF
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the Program Manager in overseeing daily program operations and staff supervision.
- Provide direct hands-on support to adults with disabilities including assistance with bathing grooming dressing feeding toileting and mobility as needed.
- Support clients in developing and maintaining daily living skills social skills and independence.
- Assist with implementing individual service plans (ISPs) and behavioral support strategies.
- Coordinate and participate in recreational and community inclusion activities.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation including progress notes incident reports and attendance records.
- Ensure all staff follow agency policies and state/federal regulations.
- Support scheduling staff training and performance evaluations.
- Communicate effectively with families guardians case managers and outside agencies.
- Uphold health and safety protocols and report any concerns immediately.
- Serve as acting Program Manager in their absence to ensure continuity of care and operations.
Qualifications
- Associates or Bachelors degree in Human Services Psychology Social Work or related field preferred.
- Minimum 2 years of experience working directly with adults with developmental or intellectual disabilities.
- At least 1 year of supervisory or lead staff experience preferred.
- Must be comfortable providing hands-on care including bathing feeding and other daily living supports.
- Knowledge of DDS regulations person-centered care and crisis intervention strategies.
- Strong leadership communication and organizational skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and documentation systems.
- Must have a valid Connecticut drivers license reliable transportation and pass all required background checks.
