JOB SUMMARY:

The Software Engineer II plans and performs software design documentation and development activities of modern web- and cloud-based applications for customers and implements Software-as-a-Service products. You will be part of a software development teams evolution from a traditional DoD software engineering environment to an OpenShift/Cloud Development Security and Operations environment in support of APE prototyping supporting both our customers and internal initiatives.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

• Providing recommendations and help establish an initial DevSecOps environment in a SIL on a RedHat Linux environment with familiarity with OpenShift
• Being a key part of a team that is transitioning from legacy software to cloud-based architecture software and agile engineering approaches
• Develop code in accordance with coding and security standards potentially including compliance with DoDs Security Technical Implementation Guide (STIG)
• Working within agile processes for short cycle fast-paced delivery both independently and on a team
• Healthy and productive communication and interaction with other team members management and our customers
• Support other duties as assigned

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

• Java experience REQUIRED
• Ability to recommend configure and maintain DevOps/DevSecOps pipeline tools and environments including OpenShift
• Experience with transitioning from traditional on-premise development environment to a cloud environment
• Cloud architecture experience with the ability to evolve legacy software into a microservices architecture and expertise with specifying the inputs outputs and service roles within the architecture
• Software engineering experience in an OpenShift RedHat environment
• In-depth knowledge of containers and Kubernetes
• JavaScript experience is a plus
• Expert in agile software engineering approaches; Experience applying behavior-driven and test-driven development
• Willingness and ability to teach DevSecOps software engineering approaches to others on the team
• Knowledge of Kobayashi Maru Platform One Cloud One Space Camp or other Air Force DevSecOps environments is preferred
• Active Secret Security clearance required Top Secret is preferred

EDUCATION: Bachelors Degree (BA/BS Engineering Computer Science or Math) preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience

YEARS OF EXPERIENCE:2-5 years

LOCATION: Full Time/ On-Site in Colorado Springs Colorado

CLEARANCE REQUIRMENT:Active Secret - or active within 24 months - or higher

DOD 8570 REQUIREMENT: DoD 8570 certification at IAT Level II or higher (Security GSEC SCNP SSCP CISSP CISA GSE SCNA) is highly preferred must obtain within 45 days of start

SALARY RANGE: $85000 to $95000
