Job Summary
Under general supervision and procedural control of the Deputy City Engineer the Capital Projects Engineer initiates and develops solutions to engineering programs through the application of professionally accepted engineering techniques practices and procedures. Employee ensures that engineering work conforms to high technical and organization standards and meets or exceeds all contract requirements. Employee provides engineering and planning advice and assistance to the Deputy City Engineer and other City departments. Extensive independent judgment and initiative are required in carrying out of duties and assigned responsibilities. Employee oversees the improvements done under the Capital Improvement Projects. Employee prepares engineering plans by researching and studying reports maps drawings aerial photographs soil and terrain characteristics hydrological characteristics and related topographical and geologic data.
