Thanks to an upcoming retirement we are seeking a licensed diesel mechanic to join our team.

About the Job:

Type: Full-Time Perm

Wage: $40 per hour depending on experience shift premium.

Shifts: This is Monday to Friday role with a two week rotating schedule days and afternoons (2 weeks of 7am to 3:30 pm followed by 2 weeks of 3pm to 11:30 pm)

  • A/C HEATER & REFRIGERATION: A/C recycling and recovery
  • CARGO HANDLING/TRANSFER LIFTGATES:
  • CHARGING SYSTEMS: (electrical) HD electrical trained within 90 days (DR208)
  • CRANKING SYSTEM: (electrical)
  • LIGHTING SYSTEM AND ELECTRICAL ACCESSORIES:
  • CLUTCH:
  • COOLING SYSTEMS:
  • DRIVE AXLES:
  • DRIVE LINE:
  • DIESEL AND GAS ENGINES - all engines:

    Skills and Abilities
  • Strong mechanical skillsAbility to demonstrate proficiency with advanced diagnostics overhaul and repair of all vehicle components and systemsPerform all entry level tasks road test vehicles as necessary
  • Ability to read and/or listen and understand information and ideas communicated
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Highly thorough and dependableAvailable for on call duty and work shift work/weekend
  • Ability to create and maintain professional relationships within all levels of the organization (peers work groups customers supervisors)
  • Ability to work independently and as a member of a team
  • Flexibility to operate and self-driven to excel in a fast-paced environment
  • Capable of multi-tasking highly organized with excellent time management skills

Qualifications

  • H.S. diploma/GED preferred
  • Vocational or Technical Certification preferred Post Secondary degree or Technical Certifications
  • Basic tools required
  • Demonstrated aptitude and applied experience in mechanical repair of automotive gas or diesel engines including:
    - Routine preventative maintenance which should include oil changes brake and tire work
    - Diagnostics and repairs including AC electrical systems
    - Advanced skilled level repairs to include some major engine repairs diesel after treatment or automotive fuel injection repairs required
  • Four (4) years or more relevant work experience preferred
  • Knowledge of and the ability to apply knowledge of computer skills: PC Windows mouse etc.
