Shiloh Hills Community/Family Support Coordinator

JOB SUMMARY
The Community/Family Support Coordinator works to strengthen connections between school families and community resources to support at-risk students academic and social success. This position assists students and families in accessing services overcoming barriers and developing positive sustainable supports that improve school engagement and outcomes.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Serve as a liaison between families schools and community organizations to ensure at-risk students and families receive coordinated support.
- Identify students and families in need of assistance and connect them to district local and state resources (housing food healthcare counseling employment support).
- Assist families in navigating systems and services including applications and referrals.
- Work with administrators counselors and teaching staff to monitor student attendance behavior and academic progress and provide interventions when needed.
- Facilitate parent engagement through workshops training sessions and one-on-one support.
- Maintain accurate records of family contacts referrals and services provided in accordance with district and state guidelines.
- Coordinate with local agencies and community partners to build a strong network of support services.
- Participate in school-based problem-solving and intervention teams as appropriate.
Maintain confidentiality and demonstrate cultural sensitivity in working with diverse families.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Associates or Bachelors degree in social services education psychology or related field.
- Experience working with at-risk youth families or community service programs.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of available community resources and ability to navigate service systems.
- Ability to work independently manage time effectively and maintain detailed records.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality in compliance with FERPA and district policies.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bilingual skills.
- Experience working in K-12 educational settings.
- Familiarity with trauma-informed practices and restorative approaches.
WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.
Work may be performed in a variety of settings including school buildings and community locations. The position may require flexible scheduling to meet family and program needs including occasional evening hours. The role involves frequent contact with students families district staff and community partners requiring a high degree of professionalism confidentiality and cultural sensitivity. The work includes periods of sitting standing and walking with occasional lifting of up to 25 pounds.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT AND SALARY PLACEMENT:
As outlined by the Policies and Procedures of Mead School District. Mead policies and Procedures can be accessed online at salary range for the position: Min $24.86 per hour Max $26.78 per hour. Salary placement will be at step 1 on the appropriate scale for the position. Previous relevant experience may result in higher step placement within the posted range.
Employees working less than 260 days will receive holiday pay for the scheduled holidays within the months worked. Each employee shall accumulate twelve (12) days of sick leave per year. An employee employed less than full-time shall be entitled to a proportionate part of the sick leave allowance. A maximum of three (3) days of annual leave are provided for all employees based on the employees scheduled employment hours per day to be used for an absence during work hours. Unused Annual Leave is cashed out every July.
Employees anticipated to work more than 630 hours per year will be eligible for Benefits through the School Employees Benefits Board (SEBB) Standard benefits include Medical Dental Vision Life Insurance and Long-Term Disability. Positions anticipated to work 70 hours or more per month for at least 5 months over a 12-month period are eligible for Retirement through the State Department of Retirement Services.
