Job Summary:

The 10-Week Summer Internship program is an extraordinary opportunity to gain hands-on experience and to learn from best-in-class talent at a first-class organization. Experience day to day projects and tasks in Special Events! You will work during the season on game and non-game days to get the full experience. Your time will not only be spent adding significant value to the organization but you will also get the opportunity to build amazing relationships throughout the organization through a series of Leadership-led Coffee Chats and Networking Events. The programs focus is to provide insight into what the workforce is like give a taste of the professional sports industry and help guide you to a career suited for you.

All the responsibilities we will trust you with:

  • Exemplifying our Padres Core Values/Mission Statement: Communication and Collaboration Progress and Innovation Accountability and Integrity and Effort and Results through building meaningful connections with a diverse fan base and serving as impactful leaders in the San Diego community
  • Assist with event planning duties such as signage needs vendor schedules other assignments as needed
  • Maintain venue layouts; keeping up to date with new schematics measurements and furniture in each space
  • Maintain event storage organization and inventory documents
  • Work with vendors as needed on schedules orders and layouts for upcoming events as needed
  • Update and maintain enhancements catalog with new vendors pricing and photos from most recent events
  • Assist with Friday Parties in the Park during baseball season
  • Assist with vendor communication (parking credentialing etc.)
  • Assist with social media posts and marketing efforts for our special events as needed

Your areas of knowledge and expertise that matter most:

  • Advanced computer skills including experience with Microsoft Office products such as Word Excel Outlook PowerPoint etc. and knowledge of basic office equipment including telephone fax copier etc.
  • Possess strong communication skills both written and verbal and effectively work well with others in a collaborative respectful manner
  • Strong sense of teamwork; able to create and maintain positive relationships within organization with a wide variety of co-workers
  • Exceptional organizational skills with ability to follow directions and meet established deadlines
  • Maintain professional demeanor with a high degree of discretion integrity and accountability
  • Maintain consistent punctual and reliable attendance
  • Bilingual in English/Spanish is a plus

You will be required to meet the following:

  • Current college/university student who has completed Sophomore or Junior year by June 2026 OR current graduate student
  • Must be at least 18 years of age by the start of employment
  • Must be available mid-June 2026 through mid-August 2026
  • Able to work during Padres home games and other special events as needed which may include weekends and evenings
  • Minimum physical requirements: able to travel to and gain access to various areas of the ballpark for prolonged periods of time during games and events; able to lift and transport up to 25 pounds
  • As a condition of employment you must successfully complete all post-offer pre-employment requirements including but not limited to a background check

Pay and additional compensation:

Per the California pay transparency law the hourly pay rate for this position is $21.06. Part time non-union employees are subject to the San Diego Living Wage Ordinance and rates will increase accordingly.

In addition to your hourly rate the Padres offer PTO employee discounts appreciation and recognition opportunities.
