Full-time Saw Operator
Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Saw Operator to join our dynamic team in the steel processing industry. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in operating CNC saws proficiency in steel processing techniques and experience with forklift operation. Key Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain CNC saws and other cutting equipment to process steel materials according to specifications and production schedules
- Set up adjust and calibrate saw machines for optimal performance and accuracy
- Read and interpret technical drawings blueprints and work orders to determine cutting requirements
- Measure and mark cutting lines on materials using precision measuring tools
- Monitor cutting processes and make necessary adjustments to ensure quality and efficiency
- Perform regular maintenance and basic repairs on saw equipment
- Conduct quality control checks on cut materials to ensure they meet specifications
- Operate forklifts to move materials and finished products within the facility
- Maintain a clean and organized work area adhering to all safety protocols and regulations
- Collaborate with team members and supervisors to optimize production processes
- Document production data material usage and equipment performance
- Troubleshoot and report any equipment malfunctions or production issues
- Participate in ongoing training and skill development programs
Qualifications
- 1-5 years of experience as a Saw Operator in the steel processing industry
- Proficiency in operating CNC saws and other cutting equipment
- Strong knowledge of steel processing techniques and best practices
- Valid forklift certification and experience operating forklifts in an industrial setting
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Strong mathematical skills for precise measurements and calculations
- Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods
- Good communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment
- High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training in metalworking or related field preferred
- Familiarity with safety regulations and procedures in a manufacturing environment
