What is broking in reinsurance

Our clients range from specialist insurers to multi-national insurance and reinsurance companies. We build relationships with our clients understand their needs provide advice on reinsurance products create a link between clients and reinsurers negotiate terms and provide advice on claims. As an Actuarial Intern you will quantify the risks faced by clients and work with our broking teams to design and evaluate reinsurance products which mitigate those risks.

Who we are looking for:

Our Internship Programme is open to all penultimate year undergraduate students who are curious and eager to learn regardless of degree subject. You are a strong communicator have excellent numerical and analytical skills and enjoy building relationships and collaborating with others.

Other attributes and skills we are looking for include:

• A desire to provide a best-in-class project delivery
• A positive proactive can-do attitude even when under pressure
• Organised and proactive with the ability to plan own workload
• Quality-driven with great attention to detail
• Adaptability as the insurance landscape is ever-evolving and a fast-paced environment

Minimum requirements:

• Penultimate year students only (2nd year of a 3-year course or 3rd year of a 4-year course)
• You will be on track to achieve a 2:1 degree (or equivalent) in any subject*
• Three A Levels including Mathematics at grade A or above

*Please note that you do not require a Mathematics or Actuarial Science degree however due to the nature of actuarial work you need excellent numerical skills.

Placement details:

• Competitive salary: 2900
• 2 days annual leave
• Start date:Monday 15th June 2026
• Duration:6-week paid programme
• Location:You will be based at our central London office (EC3A 7AG)

NB: You need to be living within a daily commuting distance for the duration of the placement.

Your experience as an intern at Lockton Re will be like no will be given the opportunity to dive into our business and add value from day one.

Supported and mentored by experts from across the business youll participate in training sessions to grow your knowledge build relationships with Lockton experts clients and markets and deliver real value through client-focused projects.

Through your experience youll get a real sense of life at Lockton Re and what a career in our industry could look like. Successful interns may be fast-tracked onto our Graduate Programme the following year.
