About the role
As one of Wyndham Councils Open Space Maintenance Team Members you will fulfill daily allocated tasks in maintaining trees gardens parks sporting fields plantations drains and/or road reserves.
You will work in a team to improve various locations around the Wyndham Municipality by undertaking your duties to a high standard in an efficient manner and with minimal of inconvenience and disruption to the public.
What your day will look like
Operating a range of small and medium plant and equipment associated with garden maintenance - e.g. rotary hoes mowers brush cutters pruners etc
Taking responsibility for the care of plant tools and equipment including fuel lubrication and fluid levels as required
Eradicating weeds by both manual and chemical techniques
Acting on or reporting observed situations requiring maintenance attention
Ensuring relevant use of personal safety clothing and equipment
What you will bring
Licence to drive a motor vehicle and truck to 13.9T (Desirable)
Roadside safety training (Desirable)
Chemical Users Certificate (Desirable)
Weed/plant identification skills
Experience in general garden maintenance
Competence in use of small and medium plant
Experience in customer service and working with the public environment
