Job Description:

The successful candidate will be responsible for the following:

• Implement maintain and optimize processes utilizing established policy management to support backup archival and file management through the datas lifecycle.
• Support established storage and file maintenance processes which include: backup migration pervasive encryption extent reduction compression expiry and recycle.
• Support established storage management processes (electronic tape vaulting and tape replication).
• Monitor storage utilization thresholds to support space availability for data allocations and perform regular disk and tape maintenance functions (assignment of DASD and tape resources).
• Hygiene activities to maintain volume and storage group optimization.
• Support the deployment maintenance and decommissioning of centrally managed storage hardware media firmware subsystems and facilities.
• Maintain catalog structures and data facilities to ensure data accessibility integrity and auditability.
• Perform library copies volume copies paging data set allocations/deletions/recoveries.
• Support disaster recovery initiatives and testing.
• Provide on call support on a rotating basis

Required technical skills include:

• Experience with z/OS and mainframe technologies.
• Possess analytical and problem solving skills.
• Comfortable with working in a rapidly changing technically complex environment.
• Proficiency in JCL.
• Experience with CA7 CA1 HSM SMS DFDSS ISMF TDMF ZDMF.
• Proficiency with standard business desktop applications.

The following qualifications are considered assets:

• Experience in the use of the following Rocket products CR MXI and HRM
• Knowledge in VSAM data set structures.
• SAS REXX CLISTcoding skills.
• Knowledge of mainframe catalog structures
• Experience with Service Now and ITIL methodology.
• Experience with the Endevor process in relation to mainframe Canadian and US implementations.
